CERRITOS, CA- A lot has happened since Vinita's Beauty & Threading Salon opened here in March 2002. Now, celebrating its third anniversary there are plans for many more things to come.
Vinita's salon in Westwood will soon be completing two years and has become a hot favorite with UCLA students. Owner and cosmetologist Vinita Vineet is in high gear and looking forward to start off another year and bring to her loyal customers more diversified services. As she says, "customer satisfaction is the solid base on which we have grown our business. We will continue to offer our best to them even at the expense of loosing money ourselves." Explaining her vision for the enterprise she says the motto is 'Bringing out the beauty in you.' "We believe our clients are all beautiful and we only help accentuate this beauty," she says.
A full service salon specializing in threading and henna art for men and women, its latest launch is Vinita's Beauty Club Card, designed to benefit loyal customers. Points are accumulated on the card and when the max of 200 is reached, the customer can avail of $10 off any service. For threading regulars, after every 10th threading, the 11th is free. They also provide expert service in facials, body massages and all kinds of skin treatments. "Relaxing, cleansing facials are skillfully applied with gentle hands. We offer three types of facials - Dermalogica, all-natural, herbal facial, or a mini-facial which provides quick cleansing and moisturizing," she says.
Temporary Henna Tattoos are becoming popular. "If you're looking for a fun, different look, try a henna tattoo. These designs last only about two weeks. The process is fast, easy, and best of all, painless. The tattoo is applied as a paste, leaving the colors and design behind. Tattoos are non-toxic, with no chemicals, cost only $5 and up and are great for kids. Further, our herbal hand massages relieve stress. We use soothing herbal oils that are wonderfully scented," she says.
Vinita has 25 years experience to fall back on. She started her salon in New Delhi, Indiabefore coming to the US. She launched the salon here after getting her cosmetology license from CerritosCollege. Just opposite the Cerritosmall, the salon attracts a large percentage of non-Indians. In fact she reveals that only 10 percent of her clients are Indian. "We have worked on developing a friendly and warm atmosphere here which clients sense as soon as they come in. We work as a family and care for each other and the clients. Our focus is to fuse ethnic, traditional techniques with American standards of sanitation and hygiene. This has produced good results and impressed our clients," she says. With the good response both salons have got so far, Vinita is soon planning to open one in Irvineto tap the potential market there and on demand for convenience of customers who travel all the way to Cerritosto visit the salon here. "Our third venture is based on a more holistic concept and will include a beauty salon and a fitness center with Yoga classes, aerobics, salsa etc.," she says.
